button out like a lion…

Another week…another great giveaway! Today I’m joined by my good friend Stacy who has just launched a new store on Etsy – Fiber Arts by Boondock Studios.

One of my favorite props ever is “The Ultimate Grassy Blanket“. Newborns wiggle and squish into it and seem to absolutely love the texture. You can see it in use here at one of my recent sessions.

Here’s a closer view so you can see the detail and how “real” it photographs.

And I’m even able to use it as a prop with my toddler sessions as well.

Stacy knits a full line of baby hats and diaper covers, too – including these cute lion and lamb sets.

Today’s guest / vendor post and giveaway is by one of my favorite vendors – and it’s also their anniversary! They’ve come to Paperie to celebrate with you!

Also scroll down to see the two winners in our latest contests…

My name is Malane and I have been crocheting since my teenage years. I have two grandkids, so let’s just say I’ve been crocheting for A LONG time. Even before the start of my Etsy shop, I had an entire closet full of yarn that I used to make sweaters, afghans, and baby gifts. Last year, my photographer daughter Renae, of Renae Alane Photography, and avid Etsy shopper daughter-in-law convinced me to start my own Etsy shop. I would already make things for my daughter to use as props so they figured…why not offer them to the Etsy world?

I love using soft and durable yarns for my designs. Knowing that most props are used on kids one and under, things can get messy! Renae and I are always coming up with new designs and love to see what photographers do with them!

Two of my most popular designs are the All American Baseball hat and the Rabbit hat and diaper set. They are both perfect for this time of the year! I am always adding new cute baby props to the shop, so be sure to check back often!

button oh, baby!

Recently I ran across an Etsy seller – Baby P Designs – I knew I had to feature as a guest / vendor post (with giveaway!) on Paperie. Not only is Jill amazing to work with, her products are even more amazing in person!

babyP designs header

Baby P Designs offers adorably stylish newborn hats and photography props.

A bit about me… My name is Jill, and I’m a knit-o-holic. My love of knitting intensified when my little stinker was born. Unable to find a fun, unique hat to protect his little noggin, I decided to bust out the needles and create my own. And so began my addiction.

baby p designs

A bit about my craft… I’m often inspired by the colorful, textured fibers found while wondering the aisles of my local knitting shop. I also love getting suggestions from photographers and enjoy creating custom knits. I recently learned how to spin yarn my own yarn – now another new addiction! This allows me to make my own handspun spun wool which I use for items in my Handspun Luxe Collection.

One of the best parts of my little business is receiving photos of my items in use and hearing such wonderful feedback from all my amazingly talented customers. I am honored that so many photographers worldwide have chosen my items to add to their prop stash.

baby p designs

My hope for Baby P Designs in 2011 is that it will continue to grow and be a favored source for newborn hats and photo props. Look for some new designs in 2011 including baby hammocks and more hat styles. Thanks for checking out my shop and bright blessings to all!

button You say boo-tique.
      We say bow-tique.

I recently made a purchase from eBay, that I swear caused an ovary to burst when I opened it. It was just. that. cute. So I immediately begged the seller to do a guest post post here, and thankfully she obliged. Introducing Stacy Murphy of The Girlie Girl Bowtique

My name is Stacy Murphy I am a a full time mommy and wife. My daughter Robyn is 16 and my son Colin is almost 5. They keep me very busy and I love it.

The Girlie Girl Bowtique has only been in business for a year! I’m an Interior Designer by profession, but chose to stay home with my kids so that had to put that on the back burner for now. As some time passed I really needed a creative outlet. As full as my life was I felt something missing.

The Girlie Girl Bowtique 1

On that day I happened to be going through my Grandmother’s old picture album. I have a natural love and obsess over anything vintage whether it be a piece of Jewelry, hats, or a pair of vintage Channel shoes . I love all vintage things… The next picture was of my Great Grandmother wearing a swim cap, You know the kind women use to wear back in the days as to not get their hair wet. This particular cap caught my eye. My Great Grandmother had stuck a bunch of daisies in it. She told me that she did that to catch the eye of this man – and she did. That man was my Great Grandfather. They laughed over this cap for many years until they both died on the same night. My daisy cap was inspired by my great grandparents. I one day decided to make these caps for photographer session props. Took some time but they caught the eye of many, MANY photographers and they and all my other flower caps have been HUGE hits.

The Girlie Girl Bowtique 2

Everything else in my Cute Bowtique is all made and designed by me. Every week there is a new design as my mind never stops. This is my outlet my hobby my passion. I love what I do and I would do it for free! (Although making some money for myself is nice too!)

The Girlie Girl Bowtique 9

The Girlie Girl Bowtique 4

I sell quality crochet flower hats , four different styles of headbands , clippies, and of course my famous flower caps — lots of MOMS shop in my store but I mostly sell to photographers as they love to use my designs for session props. I am proud to call myself a “Photo Prop Designer”. No longer the Interior Designer…which is perfect.
